Congratulation to Jane Churcher and all the umpires and helpers who made this such an enjoyable day.
I have not seen so many happy smiling people for a very long time.Well done to all the clubs that entered teams.  Let's see if we can get even more clubs involved at the next mini-hockey event in March 2012.

SAD NEWS --- Mr Jean Flamant - SHA Vice President - published on 09 June 2011

It is with great sadness that I have to inform you that Mr Jean Flamant - SHA Vice President, has passed away (on 08 June 2011).
Jean was current President of the Sussex Hockey Umpires Association and was a former Sussex selector (men's).
I personally will remember Jean as a robust goalkeeper for St Francis HC and later as an umpire with Southern Counties.
He played and umpired the game with a smile and a Gallic shrug of the shoulders which identified his place of birth.
Thoughts at this time are with his family.
A funeral service was held on:
Thursday 16 June 2011 - 12:00 noon
